Sea turtle conservation support
Each year, a significant number of hawksbill turtles come to nest on the beaches of Treasure Beach. This species is threatened by poaching, natural predation, pollution and the destruction of its habitat.
This project is run in partnership with the Treasure Beach Turtle Group, which has established a sanctuary dedicated to turtle protection. The local team works to monitor the beaches, protect nests, collect scientific data and raise awareness about the importance of preserving this emblematic species.
The nesting season runs from June to November, with the first hatchlings emerging in early August. During this period, you support the team directly in the field by taking part in their daily activities. Outside of this season, your help is still valuable in raising awareness among both children and adults about turtle conservation, through school visits, workshops and activities organised at the sanctuary.
